19 April 2017

So here we are again, another month gone in the blink of an eye which means one month closer to my California road trip, eeek!

Here is a little round up of a few things I have been loving this month:

The (ULTIMATE) Bloggers Journal

14 March 2017

Recently, I had been on the hunt for the perfect organiser/journal which would be solely used for the organisation of my blog.

Blogger Recognition Awards

12 March 2017

I was recently nominated for a 'Blogger Recognition Award' by the lovely Shayla. (Thank you soooo much) These nominations are such a great way to help other bloggers get the recognition their work deserves.

The rules for any nominees are as follows:
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  • Write a post showing the award
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
  • Select 15 other bloggers to pass the award to
  • Comment on each blog with a link to the post and let them know you nominated them

I started this blog just a couple of months ago, it is something I had been wanting to do for such a long long time but had kept putting it off and waiting for the right moment. But then I made it one of my 2017 resolutions and just went for it and I’m so glad I did!

Two pieces of advice I would give to new bloggers would be:

1. Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers.

2. Join in on blogger chats on twitter – you will find so many blogger friends on there. My personal fav chat currently are the @GRLPOWRCHAT chats. You won’t regret it!

Ok, now for 15 nominations. These are all some of my favourite blogs at the moment, be sure to check them out:

February Favourites

4 March 2017

I mean, I don't wanna be cliche and open this the way every other person does, but, I'm gonna... HOW IS IT MARCH ALREADY?!?! I was literally opening my Christmas presents yesterday I swear????

I know this is probably something I should’ve posted at the start of Jan, but better late than never right?

Everyday Natural Makeup Routine

19 February 2017

This is the make up I will wear almost every day, a simple, glowy, fresh, natural look. Without it being too obvious that you're wearing much make up. Suitable for school or work.

OK, so starting with primer, To be completely honest, most days I do actually miss out this step just ‘cos lazy… When I do remember though at the moment I’ve just been using the Benefit Porefessional primer and just applying it to my T-zone with my fingers.
Next up is foundation. At the moment I’ve been loving mixing Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Le Teint foundation in B40 with Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation in shade 4, these two colours combined are the perfect colour match and give my skin a lovely natural looking glow. I take half a pump of each onto the back of my hand and then using a damp Miracle Complexion sponge by Real Techniques I stipple the foundation all over my face and take it down my neck.
I then take my Maybelline Eraser eye concealer in the lightest shade and make a triangle under each eye, down my nose and on my chin, and again pat that in with the sponge.
I then take the Maybelline Master contour stick and using the contour shade I line my jaw line, cheek bones and forehead and then stipple that in with my RT sponge. Sometimes I will miss out this step and go straight ahead with powder bronzer but again, this is just on the mornings when I have a little more time to spare.
Next up I apply Benefit’s Hoola bronzer to enhance my nonexistent cheek bones and also bring up whatever is left on the brush onto my forehead and nose. For this step I use the RT blush brush.
I only wear blusher occasionally as I feel like if I have any redness on my skin blusher always draws attention to it. But if I do the blush I always reach for first is the SmashBox blush rush in Gingersnap, I’m not going to say much about it because it’s been discontinued and I’m still kinda sulking. (blush recommendations please)
Now for everyone’s fav step, I tend to switch it up depending on the intensity I want. So I’ll either use the KIKO Cream highlight stick, MAC Mineralised skin finish in Soft and Gentle or everyone’s fav – Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm. Which is what I will be using today, with the RT setting brush. I will dust this over the highest points of my cheekbones, cupids bow and a tiny bit on the tip of my nose. If it’s a little too intense (said no one ever) I will just take a clean foundation brush and buff it out slightly
On my brows I’m currently trying out the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz (in medium brown). I kind of underline the bottom of the brow first mainly focusing on the outer half and arch for the most precision and do the inner part just really lightly and then use the spoolie end to brush through and blend it out a little more.
I don’t really wear eye shadow on much a day to day basis, hooded eyes and all that. I’ll occasionally use some hoola in the crease and highlight on the inner corner but in the day time that’s as exciting as my eyes get.
The next step is mascara and today I am using The False Lash superstar fibre mascara by L'oreal and I will usually only put mascara on my top lashes and leave my bottom lashes bare. I think it just gives a much more natural look and really opens up the eye.
Finally, for lips I pretty much always go for either a nude lip if not just a lip balm. Because my lips are super dry at the moment, today I will just be using this Palmers cocoa butter 'f'lip balm in watermelon. Which gives a nice healthy looking sheen and keeps my lips moisturised for a few hours (it also tastes great).
Et voila, there we have my everyday natural make up routine.

Thanks for reading!

15 February 2017

So, today I thought I would share with you guys some blogs that I have been binge reading recently.. seeing as it was valentines yesterday I thought it was only right to share the love on the internet also.

You're welcome.

I am slightly obsessed with Stephanie's blog. She has a little bit of everything. But I am particularly addicted to her endless reel of blogging tips, some of the most helpful I have ever come across! If you haven't already, you should definitely check her out.

Similarly to cocochic - Maria posts a little bit of everything. From style, beauty, to the good old blogger help posts. She is also a genuinely lovely girl and you can tell she really puts a lot into what she does.

Jackie is new to the blogging scene and posts mainly fitness posts and some super tasty food inspo posts too. If you need inspiration to get to the gym, look no further!

I only really recently came across Jennifer's blog, and once I did I'm pretty sure I spent a good few hours straight binge reading. Her blog focuses mainly on beauty and fashion but again, she has a bit of everything. Highly, highly recommend!

First of all, blogtography goals or what? Secondly, Jasmine is probably responsible for 99.9% of my beauty purchases in the last month, you have been warned.

7 February 2017

In today's post I will be sharing with you guys my thoughts on the few products from Nip+Fab which I have trialled and tested over the past couple of months.

Are they really worth the hype?

OOTD: Aviator Jacket

28 January 2017

All pictures taken at Langstone - Havant (so pretty)

Today was the first day where we got the chance to experiment with my new Olympus EPL-7 camera. I'm really happy with the results.
It's also the first time I got to wear my new aviator jacket from River Island (although I purchased mine on as it has 20% off at the moment)

Charlotte Tilbury - Light Wonder Foundation

22 January 2017

"Youth-Boosting, Perfect-Looking Skin Foundation SPF15"
Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation

So when I went to the Charlotte Tilbury counter I was actually looking to buy the Magic foundation which is super raved about online and so many bloggers love. However, after being told by a Charlotte Tilbury makeup artist how much they hated it (weird I know) I decided to try the light wonder foundation – it is a lot lighter coverage and much more dewy than the other one.

17 January 2017

This is a long overdue post on our month in Thailand in Summer 2016.
