Everyday Natural Makeup Routine

19 February 2017

This is the make up I will wear almost every day, a simple, glowy, fresh, natural look. Without it being too obvious that you're wearing much make up. Suitable for school or work.

OK, so starting with primer, To be completely honest, most days I do actually miss out this step just ‘cos lazy… When I do remember though at the moment I’ve just been using the Benefit Porefessional primer and just applying it to my T-zone with my fingers.
Next up is foundation. At the moment I’ve been loving mixing Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Le Teint foundation in B40 with Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation in shade 4, these two colours combined are the perfect colour match and give my skin a lovely natural looking glow. I take half a pump of each onto the back of my hand and then using a damp Miracle Complexion sponge by Real Techniques I stipple the foundation all over my face and take it down my neck.
I then take my Maybelline Eraser eye concealer in the lightest shade and make a triangle under each eye, down my nose and on my chin, and again pat that in with the sponge.
I then take the Maybelline Master contour stick and using the contour shade I line my jaw line, cheek bones and forehead and then stipple that in with my RT sponge. Sometimes I will miss out this step and go straight ahead with powder bronzer but again, this is just on the mornings when I have a little more time to spare.
Next up I apply Benefit’s Hoola bronzer to enhance my nonexistent cheek bones and also bring up whatever is left on the brush onto my forehead and nose. For this step I use the RT blush brush.
I only wear blusher occasionally as I feel like if I have any redness on my skin blusher always draws attention to it. But if I do the blush I always reach for first is the SmashBox blush rush in Gingersnap, I’m not going to say much about it because it’s been discontinued and I’m still kinda sulking. (blush recommendations please)
Now for everyone’s fav step, I tend to switch it up depending on the intensity I want. So I’ll either use the KIKO Cream highlight stick, MAC Mineralised skin finish in Soft and Gentle or everyone’s fav – Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm. Which is what I will be using today, with the RT setting brush. I will dust this over the highest points of my cheekbones, cupids bow and a tiny bit on the tip of my nose. If it’s a little too intense (said no one ever) I will just take a clean foundation brush and buff it out slightly
On my brows I’m currently trying out the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz (in medium brown). I kind of underline the bottom of the brow first mainly focusing on the outer half and arch for the most precision and do the inner part just really lightly and then use the spoolie end to brush through and blend it out a little more.
I don’t really wear eye shadow on much a day to day basis, hooded eyes and all that. I’ll occasionally use some hoola in the crease and highlight on the inner corner but in the day time that’s as exciting as my eyes get.
The next step is mascara and today I am using The False Lash superstar fibre mascara by L'oreal and I will usually only put mascara on my top lashes and leave my bottom lashes bare. I think it just gives a much more natural look and really opens up the eye.
Finally, for lips I pretty much always go for either a nude lip if not just a lip balm. Because my lips are super dry at the moment, today I will just be using this Palmers cocoa butter 'f'lip balm in watermelon. Which gives a nice healthy looking sheen and keeps my lips moisturised for a few hours (it also tastes great).
Et voila, there we have my everyday natural make up routine.
